Naked Chef (Restaurant) in Town

 2013-09-07 17.51.40-1

Naked Chef…Jamie Oliver…

It is a big hit in Singapore. You probably have to queue minimum 45 minutes in order to step foot into his restaurant, located @ VivoCity, Level 1. They take in reservations but not too many. We called to make a reservation but was told to wait 1 month later for seats.  Duh! 1 Month later…

So we decided to walk-in at 5pm.

We arrived @ VivoCity with a bunch of old friends. Went to ‘register’ and was told an sms will be sent to us when the seats are ready. At around 545pm, the sms came in and shoo…we went to the restaurant, with a on-cloud-nine feeling.

We looked at the menu and ordered our dinner at the fastest speed possible, after a couple rounds of discussion though.

Restaurants are packed, bustling with people. Queues outside, maybe 30 people queuing. Waiters and waitress busy like a bee. While waiting, we noticed a couple of food were left on the shelves for a wee bit too long, without being brought forward to the table that it should belong to.

Taaadaaa….Here comes ours…

Looks delicious??? Guess???

Far from delicious for most of the dishes…No joke…We were anticipating so much over Jamie’s food but it was a disappointment…We requested for medium rare steak but it came medium well. Told the Manager immediately but she says that is medium rare. Do you think we are blind or something is wrong with our taste buds that we cannot even differentiate rare and well??? The fusilli was tasteless. My hubby got to add in salt and pepper himself to make it taste better…and only better.

Bolognese was the best.

Left the restaurant in dismay. Almost all, especially the guys, were not full. We had to go to our secret café to ‘top-up’ our tummies.

For benefit of the doubt, anyone who tried Jamie’s, please leave your comments in this blog post so that we can decide to give it a try again.

Magic shows are well-loved by all children and adults. The magicians also make some balloons for the children.

Yes. Do not rub or squint your eyes. You did not see wrongly. It is the popcorn cum cotton candy and ice cream booths! Amazing! The ice cream is those traditional type where we used to have it when we were young: Choco, Vanilla and Strawberry flavors to choose from. I had 3 cones that night. Woo Hoo…

This bouncy castle, of coz, is to help to entertain children that are above 6 years old, so that parents can at least enjoy their dinner. Young children and toddlers are advised against staying near the bouncy castles as the kors kors and jies jies are quite rough during play time. So wait till you get older k.

Note: Credits goes to Wency Mama and Xiong Papa for making this a success and also letting us to have a great time catching up with some long-never-see friends.

Once more, a very Happy Birthday to ANGUS!

Activities on the last day (31) of August 2013

Dinner was @ Wee Nam Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice Restaurant. Went past it previously with long queue. So thought to give this a try as I love to eat Chicken Rice **Yum Yum** The queue was not long when we arrived because we reached at 6pm to beat the crowd. The food was served quite fast (Not too long a wait) and it was DELICIOUS! We ordered 1 chicken, half white and half roasted, 1 plate of vegetables, 1 plate of tou fu and unlimited soup! Haiz…did not have the chance to take pictures of the food because too busy eating…lolz

Address: 275 Thomson Road #01-05 Novena Ville Singapore 307645 (Opposite Novena Church)

After a sumptuous dinner, we went to a café. However, I am told by my hubby not to reveal the name of the café so that people will not know about this wonderful place and it will not be so crowded *Selfish him* Although I agree in my heart….wahahahha…

This café serves coffee known as Highlanders. I am not very sure what it is because I do not usually drink coffee. But see…this place serves such good coffee that we have been popping back for the past 2 weeks 🙂 The truffle fries is fabulous too! We just love it!

Will reveal the name of the café when it is approved by you-know-who. But you probably can try to guess or even google, based on the photo provided 🙂

Wunderful Afternoon @ Happy Willows

Yuppie Yeahz! It’s the time to play again! I am bringing Kyle to YES….his favorite playground, Happy Willows.

Image

Yup. Today I am bringing him there alone, without dad and the car, and meeting my auntie @ One-North MRT. Ignore the UGLY pimple on my face hor! Dun focus on that. Please look at Kyle k 🙂 He is ‘well prepared’ for his fun and play in a while (Slept for 2 hours in the morning before waking up for his porridge. Then out we go)

Image

He sort of already knows the location because once we reach, he pointed to the directions where Happy Willows is located at and once he steps foot into Happy Willows, he rush to play his favorite slide and my poor Auntie got to follow closely behind him. He will slide down himself if nobody ‘catches’ him before that.

He will enjoy all sections for a while and quickly changes to play something else. But will come back to the same section to play again later. He gets bored quite easily with the same old things. So that is why I never bother to buy too many toys for him. The living room is full of his ‘unwanted’ toys now 😦

ImageHe loves the SUPER DUPER BIG ball. He will hit the ball happily even though the ball often ‘knocks’ him down but he thinks that’s fun. There is one thing which he will NEVER automatically play and touch, let alone say playing with it and taa daa…It’s the BULL.

Image

His next favorite, as usual, always related to ball ball..will be the ball pool. The balls are of colorful blue and orange, which is the best color balls that I have seen till now. Kyle just loves to hit the balls together. Every time without fail.

ImageImage

I am assuming as a boy, he loves to play with legos. There are 2-3 kitchen sets beside it but he seldom bother to play with it. Maybe this is the difference between a boy and girl as my friend’s daughters love the kitchen sets.

This is the study area and party area. So comfy with the cushions…Allowing parents to read storybooks to their little ones…A good form of relaxation. They also provide a table with color pencils and coloring papers for children to display their art talents.

** Happy Willow is located at 1 Fusionopolis Way, Fusionopolis, Connexis Tower, #B1-06, Singapore 138632 (Just directly above One-North MRT) – Very convenient

Wonderful Journey into Pregnancy

I knew I started this blog very late. But late than never 🙂

I was flashing back those photos that were in my laptop. Memories just flood back and it was just like yesterday. But turning to look at Kyle, he is already 14 months old now! Time just passed like this (snap your finger)…

Baby Scan 9-04 April 2012

The baby scan picture was taken when I was in my 29th week of pregnancy. It shows the face and body of Kyle, which was so clear. We were very amazed and excited to be able to see Kyle very soon since it was already in the 3rd trimester! However, we did not expect he feels the same as us as he was born 3 weeks earlier than his EDD (EDD was supposed to be on 27 June 2012 but he pops out on the 07 June 2012).

The maternity portrait and the newborn photo was done by my professional Photographer friend, Ms Hong Yin. I knew her a couple of years back when we shared the same office during my working days. She knew both me and my husband, thus we were more than happy and comfortable for her to take the maternity portraits for us. The newborn photo was done in our premise as Kyle was only 1 week old at that period of time. She brought all the necessary equipment and props over and it was a quick and good job!
